Churches Together in Upper Wharfedale was founded over 20 years ago  and is affiliated to Churches Together in Britain and Northern Ireland

Our purpose is to provide opportunities for Christians of all denominations  to work and worship together. To this end, we organise a wide variety of services and activities across Upper Wharfedale. Our activities are organised by an executive committee made up of clergy and laity representing each Parish. We meet three times a year for business meetings. We celebrate two major services each year in Grassington Town Hall - a service to introduce  the week of prayer for Christian Unity in January and a Festival Service to coincide with Grassington Festival.  There are also a range of other activities throughout the year, including talks and prayer and praise meetings. There is also  a full programme of activities for Lent and Easter. These include Lenten Lunches, a Good Friday walk to Rylstone Cross, followed by a Good Friday procession around Grassington which culminates in an open air service of witness in Grassington Square. We also organise a Nativity Procession and Carol Service in the square on each Saturday of the Grassington Dickensian Festival.

Kilnsey Show 2010 There was much use made of the facilities provided by CTiUW. It is a strong outreach opportunity. However we were very short on volunteers to 'man' the tents and we would be grateful for more volunteers in the future.

08/08/10 Buckden Praise Evening - with Gargrave Praise Band. Gargrave Praise Band came back to Buckden Schoolroom on Monday 19th July  to lead us in a wonderful evening of prayer and praise, which was much enjoyed by all. Many thanks to the band and to those who provided refreshments afterwards.
11/07/10 Grassington Festival Service - was a wonderful occasion. We were delighted to welcome Adrian and Bridget Plass as our speakers who captivated us with a different perspective on aspects of our faith. They were both humorous and very moving. The music was uplifting and Peter Thomas was an inspirational worship leader.
26/03/10 Seder Supper A group of 25 people met at St Margaret Clitherow's Church in Threshfield for a talk from Sue & Mike Dorsey of Leeds Jewish Representative Council about the the Jewish Passover tradition and the Seder supper. A fascinating evening which really reminded us all of the links and commonality between our different faiths.
