Kilnsey Evening Stroll, Wednesday 11th April

To those intending to walk, or are merely dining, or simply ‘absent friends’ to be kept informed:

The earlier reference to Appletreewick was –WRONG!

We have decided that the first Stroll of the season should be short (well under two miles) and sweet, with an easy uphill start and a gentle descent to the pub!

MEET outside the Buck Inn, Buckden, to leave by 6 pm for the Tennants’ Arms, Kilnsey.

PARK outside the Tennants’ Arms then enter and order food for your return.

WALK to start by about 6:30 ish.  It should take no more than one hour – and probably only 50 minutes.

Non-walkers should aim to arrive at the Tennants’ Arms between 7:15 and 7:30 to get in their order.

We chose the Tennants’ Arms partly on recent recommendation, partly on our lunch today – and the warm welcome received – and certainly on the spotless environment.  The Landlord (Ron) seems determined to restore the pub to its’ former high standards (after a period of sad decline).  It will take time to earn a good reputation but, as he said, “I’m here for the long haul”; Kevin and Michelle, now at The Buck Inn, have the same attitude and we must wish them all every success.
