Buckden Christmas Lights Competition -
Rules
- For Entry Categories - see entry form
- Only one category may be entered per
household
- Definitions:
- "Flashing Lights" - are those in which
the display is interrupted for a period greater than 0.5 seconds in any
one minute period -
- "Non Flashing Lights" - are those which
do not flash
- Any other lights are probably
broken
- Where a display comprises both flashing and
non-flashing light sets, it is almost certainly excessively ostentatious -
however for the purposes of the competition it will be deemed to be a
"Flashing" display.
- Additional marks will be awarded for:
- Understated elegance
- "Green" displays (low electricity
consumption)
- Accompanying the entry form with a
suitable festive donation
- Being the Adjudicator
- Marks will be deducted for:
- large inflatable decorations
- casting aspersions on the integrity of
the Chief Adjudicator and his team
- No competitor is permitted to have a better
display than the Chief Adjudicator
- The Adjudicator's decision is final
- The
Adjudicator has the right to change the rules as and when he sees fit
- There is no regional dimension to this
year's competition. Competitors who attempt to introduce a regional
dimension will be summarily disqualified.
- Entries are limited to properties within the
boundaries of Buckden Parish
Once again the proceeds of the competition will
go to the Buckden Life Belt Appeal.
