Buckden Lifebelt Appeal - Exciting Developments

Regular visitors will recall the occasion when a certain villager, returning from a party in the village, inadvertently fell into Buckden Beck. This incident gave rise to the original Buckden Lifebelt Appeal. Concerned that the near disaster might be repeated after a party on Friday evening, Bev's friends designed a patent buoyancy aid system to ensure that, in the event that Bev's aquatic adventures were repeated, he would not come to any harm.

Bev is seen wearing the buoyancy aid in the pictures below, which also show Lifebelt Appeal Chairman Ted Salmon offering Bev invaluable advice about avoiding Buckden Beck. Ironically, during the presentation, Mr Salmon, who is also official Buckden Health and Safety advisor, was hit on the head by a low flying hard hat, as can be seen in the first picture.
